An All Star Performance
On Friday, May 22nd the 1st grade classes were visiting the Smithsonian American History Museum. After they saw the American flag that inspired the National Anthem, they were able to see a dramatic presentation about the woman who made the flag. The first graders were able to help her lay out the material, place the stars on the flag and name the states. Here is what Mrs. G shared about what happened next. " Then they just started singing the National Anthem when the presentation
was over. It was the sweetest thing and everyone in the museum that could hear
them stopped what they were doing and focused their attention on the students.
There was not a dry eye. When they students were finished singing the audience
broke out into applause. It was a moment I will not soon forget. "
