Serve-a-Thon  2011

Our goal is to raise $40,000 through our serve-a-thon to help bridge the gap between tuition and operating costs.

A Glimpse of Our Serve-a-thon Week!

Students had a marvelous time going out into the community to serve during our serve-a-thon week October 17 – 21, 2011. Our weekly chapels had all lead up to this week. Fr. Anthony had described what it means to serve with a heart like Christ’s. We prayed for each project and every person we would encounter during our service week.

Finally, October 17th arrived and we were off and running. Our 3 year olds put together care packages to be sent to soldiers over-seas. K4 students beautified our playgrounds by planting bulbs all around the perimeters. They are excited for what springtime will bring. 1st and 2nd grade students headed over to two different nursing homes to sing to residents. In art class students had made flower pens and heart pen holders to bring a hand-made gift to each resident.  3rd and 4th grade students went to Arlington to read to preschool students at the Child & Family Network Centers. While, 5th and 6th grade students visited the Merrifield fire station to plant flowers and wash fire trucks. Imagine the fun they had trying out the big fire hoses, that is quite a car wash!

Thank you for praying for us and thank you for donating to our Love Your Neighbor Serve-a-thon!
