In 2003, Little Flock Preschool opened its doors with the goal of providing affordable high quality education in a Christian environment. We truly were a "little flock" with only 20 students and five staff members in grades K3 & K4. Although we were small in number, we were large in spirit and with God's grace we have grown. For the 2014-2015 school year we have over 80 students from K2 through K5 with 20 staff members. Even though we have grown so large in number, we strive at providing a close knit learning community were each child feels right at home.
The Early learner years are a child’s first exposure to a school setting. We understand the importance of a loving and nurturing environment for the children. We want each child to have a close, warm bond with their teachers. We provide praise, encouragement, and positive redirections as they learn to transition into a new setting. We encourage our children to develop a sense of competence and self-worth as they learn to take care of themselves and others. As the children continue throughout the school year, we provide opportunities to challenge a child so they are able to see the joy of accomplishing new things.
Since we are a Christian School, we use the Bible as our greatest teaching tool. We share with the children how special they are and how much Jesus loves them. Through daily classroom activities, Bible stories and verse memorization, we can share with them God’s mighty plans and His role in their lives. The children attend weekly chapel that also focuses on expanding their Christian world view and what it means to be Christ-like every day. We celebrate each child and their different cultures. We teach them to embrace the wonderful ways God made them different. We also stress the importance of having a servant’s heart and always offering a helping hand.
