History
Good Shepherd Christian Academy began as Little Flock Christian School. Little Flock Christian School first opened its doors in 2003, however, the dream for this school had been alive for much longer. LFCS began as a passing thought several years ago, as many wondered “Would it be possible to have a high quality education and a strong Christian environment in one school?” God put it on our hearts to do just that. It is with that vision that LFCS was born.
In August 2003, we truly were a ‘little’ flock as we had two classes [K-3 and K-4], 5 faculty members and a total of 20 students. Although we were small in number, we were large in spirit. We soon began growing – adding one class per year – with a goal reach 8th grade one day. We always say that we will not focus on numbers; we will focus on quality. We believe that if we continued to provide a quality education in a nurturing Christ-centered environment, God will take care of numbers. And did He ever!
We continued to grow slowly until the spring of 2006. At that time, God put on our heart to take a leap of faith – He wanted us to grow 6 grades at once! We went from 4 classes in Fall 2005 to 15 classes in Fall 2006. It was a huge leap of faith, but God carried us through it [as He always does]. Thanks to our increasingly strong reputation, we were able to get enough students and faculty to jump aboard with us to make this leap a success.
